Anti Glare Computer Screen displays are the one which have been designed for cutting down the light reflecting from the display. This will make viewing a pleasant for most of the people. This kind of advanced displays can reduce eye strain.
Light reflected from normal displays will cause much strain to the eyes and it will also reduce the contrast, sharpness and colors of the display. Nowadays most of the LCD screens are provided with anti glare screen. There are two types of LCD monitors with anti glare display:
One type has matte finish display: It uses rough matte surface for scattering the light rather than allowing the light to reflect from a smooth surface. Its minus point is that it will allow the light to come out of the display, making the display less crisp for the viewers. Contrast, color and clarity are muted by Matte finish. It has slightly blurred image, so it will be causing fatigue to the eyes.
Other type has chemical coating: This kind of anti glare computer displays uses chemical coating for cutting down the glare. This kind of display can give better images when compared to matte finish displays. These displays will have better contrast and better colors. Minus points of this display are that they can’t cut down the glare as much as matte finish displays can.
One needs to select the display screen based on the environment in which these displays be used. For home use, chemical treated smooth anti glare displays will be suitable. CRT monitors are also coming with anti glare screens. By using these anti glare screens, one can not only block glare but can also prevent harmful ultraviolet rays from these screens. LCD screens can well tackle this kind of radiation problems. Aftermarket anti-glare computers screens are also available in the market.
